Sneaker customization for customers at Adidas store

This is one of the shoes I customized live for customers at the Adidas store in Tysons Corner VA. Myself and my friend Brandon "Baby Chickens" were available all day to customize for customers that purchased shoes that day, DJ Stylus Chris was rockin the ill sounds all day as well.

R5 Graff Piece for Edgewood Mural Jam

This is a graffiti piece I painted for The Edgewood Mural Jam, which was headlined by Pose2, ChorBoogie, Decoy and a few others, a lot of people got up on the long wall, and fortunately I came out and dropped this piece. This is perhaps my first piece in nearly a decade, at least 7-8 years. I kinda like it & it was fun painting again.

X in NYC live design

My good friends at team 88 do a monthly multi-sensory event called "X" that features live art, music, dance, projections and design. I have previously participated with them in DC on several occasions both as a designer and as an artist, performing live during the event. NYC has previously hosted X, and this time I designed live for the 2nd installment of X-NYC. There were 4 designers (2 from DC, 2 from NY) yet we only had 1 computer to use so time was limited and we each had only 1 hour to design.
X events have an invited curator which gives the designers 3 words on which they must base their design on, the 3 words were: Gradient, Symmetry and Urban
Heres what I designed in 1 hour (thank goodness for designer graphic resources):

Lost and Found show flyer

My homie Cory asked me to design the show flyer (I designed a poster as well) for his upcoming exhibit called "Lost & Found". The exhibit will feature art on found objects, I think I may do my work on a chair. I will post the show piece later, here are the flyers for now:

Monstruorate Custom toy for Vinylmore2

Atomic Books in Hampden Baltimore organized their 2nd art show on toys in which they showcased small size platform figures of no more than 4 inches high. I decided to use a Munny head and make it into a weird creature with some slicked back psy-hair.
It is always great to see vinyl events (Say Whaaat!, Vinylmore1) happening in the DC area region and to participate and support them.

Elvira & Pepe Monogram

In November my very good friend Pepe will marry Elvira in the state of Durango in Mexico. Pepe and myself have been freinds for a real long time and Elivra is one kick-ass chick. For their upcoming ceremony they wanted a non traditional monogram so I designed these 2 versions for them.

Red Bull Quetzalcoatl

This piece is for the Red Bull "Art of can" exhibit (officially accepted into exhibit) which will be on display at Union Station in D.C. in October 8-19th. The theme for this piece is Quetzalcoatl the feqathered & winged serpent god from Aztec & Mayan mythologies. This particular pose is from the carvings in the pyramids of Teotihuacan in Mexico City.

This was a very laborious piece yet rewarding at the same time. In this project I received suggestions from friends, which helped tremendously in the construction of this piece. Jon J introduced me to Crayola "Model Magic" (air-dry foam/clay for kids), Jon from CT. gave me the idea to use a jello mold to mount the piece on (I used a colander) and my friend Dave Cramske that suggested I use plant foam for the jaw -fang sculpting & shaping. Gracias Amigos.

CHIAPASTRENGHT Watercolor Painting

This the latest watercolor painting I have finished, it depicts a young indigenous Zapatista girl from the state of Chiapas in Mexico. This painting is actually dedicated tho the state of Chiapas & the wonderful people & places I have encountered there. The only place I have been to that the reality of what I saw was far more than what my imagination envisioned.
This painting exhibited at the "Global Politics" show at ArtWhino gallery as part of the installation that Am Radio did at the gallery. Am Radio is a group of artist that collaborate on various projects as they come up, I have had the pleasure of working with them on a few things so far.

New Jewelry 2009

These are the latest of my necklace creations. Necklaces/jewelry for me is an ongoing thing & for the most part I create in spurts but often make several pieces at once, sometimes I remake necklaces if I see a new vision for the stones on another piece. The largest one is in part from a previous necklace I was not 100% on.
Minerals & materials used include: turquoise, coral, kyanite, amethyst, manganese, chrysophase, silver and hand-blown glass.

Dj Equal Apparel

My good friend Elliot - Dj Equal has been killin it at many nightclubs in NY as well as on tour. He was considering doing some cut & sew pieces for touring, so I did some quick ideas for fun. Simple, clean style & monochromatic hues was the design style intended.
