Red Bull Quetzalcoatl

This piece is for the Red Bull "Art of can" exhibit (officially accepted into exhibit) which will be on display at Union Station in D.C. in October 8-19th. The theme for this piece is Quetzalcoatl the feqathered & winged serpent god from Aztec & Mayan mythologies. This particular pose is from the carvings in the pyramids of Teotihuacan in Mexico City.

This was a very laborious piece yet rewarding at the same time. In this project I received suggestions from friends, which helped tremendously in the construction of this piece. Jon J introduced me to Crayola "Model Magic" (air-dry foam/clay for kids), Jon from CT. gave me the idea to use a jello mold to mount the piece on (I used a colander) and my friend Dave Cramske that suggested I use plant foam for the jaw -fang sculpting & shaping. Gracias Amigos.
