Live painting on Scion XB car at Sol Power block party

The Sol Power block party held at the Marie H Reed Rec Center in Adams Morgan Washington DC, was an amazing event put together by 88DC and Lil-SoSo with support from Scion. For this event Scion was gracious enough to bring a vinyl wrapped Scion XB car for myself and my friend Josh Taylor to decorate/customize.
Given the quick time frame in which we were able to paint we decided to use paint markers to achieve a more completed concept on such a large work area. The project was fun to do and the result of the collabo came out nice. Huge shout-out to my homie Josh, this would've never materialized to such an extent if not for his super quick painting and overall input. And thanks to Scion for gracioulsy providing such an interesting and different surface in which to manifest creative thought.

Falling Whistles necklace collaboration jewelry line

This is a line of necklaces I made recently based on my original design for the necklace I made for myself using a Falling Whistle. This is my first collaboration with jewelry and necklaces as well as with Falling Whistles. I am very excited to see the possibility of the added impact that these necklaces I donated can cause the general effort Falling Whistles leads.

Falling Whistles is an organization dedicated to bringing aid and awareness to the plight of war affected children from the Congo (the longest running war). The whistle is a symbol for peace, yet children too young to hold guns are often sent to the battlefields with only a whistle. The necklace consists of hematite, black shell pearls, repurposed bullet casings with pearl tips, a silver clasp and a silver/brushed/hammered finish Falling Whistles.
Check out their site and their amazing organization.

Civil war Qee custom toy for Spaghetti Projects

This animated pic of the custom I did for the "Civil War" themed show at Spaghetti Projects in Fredriksburg VA. It is inspired by slavery and the quest for freedom during the civil war.

The "Freedom Qee" features large face area where the toy has been treated with chalk writing paint and it has an interactive  writable surface, people were encouraged to write on the face with an anti-slavery quotes or other stuff.
Additionally there is a book provided that has quotes from civil war abolitionists and persons of importance from the era as well as civil war quilt patterns that were used by slaves to communicate throughout in the underground railroad from South to North. The back of the Qee features the anti-slavery and abolitionist seal as well as civil war slave quilt patterns on the hands and legs, also its on a wooden base and comes with chalk and a book

Activation 440 installation and exhibit

The Activation 440 exhibit presented by the No Kings Collective  and Ready Set DC  which featured many artists form the DC area.
"
Starting on Friday June 4th, No Kings Collective will repurpose The Josephine, a newly completed 4-story condominium, into a temporary mixed-use gallery space. This space is located at 440 Rhode Island Ave near the corner of 5th and Rhode Island NW and will be a unique mix of multidisciplinary contemporary arts. The entire building space will come alive from June 4th – June 26th"
For this exhibit I painted an installation at the venue in the same room as Gaia, where I displayed some of my artwork as well as my entire jewelry collection. This was the first time ever that the collection had been displayed in its entirety and the installation and collection were very well received.

Live design for X-culture event during Amnesty International Human Rights Art Festival

The first-ever Amnesty International Human Rights Art Festival was held April 23 through 25 in Silver Spring, MD. The team at 88DC put together another X-culture event in which I participated doing live design along with my friend Tyler Neely.

Wonder Emporium Live painting

Wonder Emporium was a multi faceted interactive and media arts event. It featured interactive sculpture as well as several interactive technologies as well as live music, live design and live art provided by yours truly. This event was organized by the amazing friends at EightyEightDC as well as DCDesignBabes and MediaBarn.
For this event I decided to do my own interpretation of Vaughn Bode's iconic Cheech Wizard character. Cheech Wizard has been an influence throughout my years as well as being the first figure that started me on collecting vinyl toys.
One of the innintentional fun facts about this live painting is that my vibrant and kinda psychodelic choice of colors for Cheech played very well with the lighting for that evening, you can see part of the live painting in John Bowens amazing recap of the night (im around min 2:12). Rogue Monk T-shirt Designs

Rogue Monk is an new platform (beta version still) for artists to submit designs for t-shirts which can then be voted on for manufacturing and distribution to established retail avenues. This seems like an interesting project and for these t-shirts I used some previous illustrations and reinterpreted them into new designs. My friend Miguel from Mexico City is involved in the project and im happy to contribute to Rogue Monk and support my homie as well.

Splatter Cat custom for Toy2r 15th Anniversary Show

Toy2r graciously invited me to participate in their Qeeology 15th anniversary event in Lincon NE. at the Marz bar, this is the quick custom I was able to deliver for the show. Avalere Healthcare commission painting

Albus Cavus an awesome arts organization and collective based here in Washington DC was contracted to do several paintings for an upcoming corporate event during the summer. My friend Peter submitted my work along with other artists and the company chose 4 artists including myself to do 5 x 5 foot canvasses. This is my first commissioned painting that I did for Avalere Healthcare for their corporate event inspired by "growth". Thanks a bunch Peter!

Live painting during G40 exhibit opening nights

This piece was painted on the first floor of the G40 Art summit exhibit, during the opening nights of Thursday, Friday and Saturday. I painted this pillar off and on during 3 days. It was a lot of fun to paint alongside the invited artists and other astounding talents from DC.
